Infinity Tournament - Incom Gaming

So as promised, here is a bit about the quality tournament i attended way back in September.

This was my first Infinity tournament, so i was a little apprehensive to say the least! I hadn't been playing Infinity for very long, and there were a pile of rules to remember! But my buddies Dave and Luke were adamant that the best way to learn the rules is to play in a tournament! So in i dived!

The tournament was to be held in Cheltenham by Incom Gaming. This wasn't a club i'd been to before, but i had heard of them. This was also their first Infinity tournament, so i wasn't quite sure what to expect. As it turned out, they did a spot on job! It was well organised with some pretty decent terrain to play on!

Sadly i was a bit engrossed so didn't manage to take many pictures. I did snap the tables before we started:

most of my force charged up the middle on turn one to secure the narrow doorway splitting the board.

My other favorite MVP, Agema with missile Launcher, who held the left flank with a nice straight fire lane to practice hurling missiles down!

When it was all said and done i came out with a Win, a Loss and a Draw! Not bad for my first tourney!

I also entered the painting competition, which i was crowned winner! There wasn't a great deal of entries, but it was still nice to win! That's me with a paintbrush in my mouth, second from left on the bottom row, and my mate Luke who came overall second in the top right. My other mate Dave who was also there had a bit of a shocker i'm afraid...

Overall a great tourney, and i'd definitely go again! Will be keeping an eye out for the next one!

Horus Heresy Weekender 2015

I knew i had to get tickets for this event as soon as they went on sale, seem's as i'm in full Heresy mode at the moment! So me and my buddy Sam went up to nottingham and spent the weekend up to our eyes in Heresy!

I'll let the pictures do the talking (most you may have seen already doing the rounds), and theres some pictures of our 3 games we got in over the weekend as well. I didn't bother taking photos in the seminars, as the other 299 people were busy doing it!!

For the Weekender i took my Death Guard and Mechanicum!

Really excited about this new Thanatar!!

The Thanatar performed very well in this game, taking out 2 tanks and a Contemptor!

Painting Laurels - Bristol Vanguard's Spoils of War

A few weeks ago I attended Bristol Vanguards annual Spoils of War tournament weekend. It was the second time that I have attended the event, and it was even better than the last! A 2 day narrative campaign of Good vs Evil fought over 5 games of various points limits.

The weekend was a blast, and i highly recommend it to tournament goers. I was also fortunate enough to win an award for Best Painted HQ.

Bristol Vanguard is renowned for its amazing terrain and tables! They're a pleasure to  play on.

Finally a few shots of the painting competition. There was an award for every category on the FoC.

Will definitely be going next year!

Apocalypse Game May 2014

My poor neglected blog! Gearing up for this Apocalypse game has been a real trial, resulting in an absolute terrain building frenzy! It was all worth it though, because we ended up with a great looking table!

The idea was that 2 sides battle over 3 crossing points into the Imperial city. The bridge below was Andy's effort (done at very short notice!)

This is what i have been slaving over lately - Imperator Bridge! Its nearly 5 feet long and 2 feet wide.

The final crossing point was this infected Tyranid Section. More like a Bio-Bridge!

This is my Defence Laser Heretics Bane, finally painted up! Its inspired me to build to long planned second laser.

These are just a few random shots of the game in full swing. We had 7 players each side, with each player bringing 2000pts each. It was Imperial vs Xenos.

Yes, that is an Eldar Phantom Titan (well over 2K of points on its own, but we allowed it!) This is what destroyed my beloved Reaver Titan Praetorian.

A massive Dark Eldar force loaded with Kabilites and Incubi!

The Phantom stood watch over the Xenos side of the bridge, wipping out 4000pts of models on its own!!

Despite a Vortex grenade swirling around its feet for the whole game!

There wasn't much left of the Imperial defences once 4 Daemon Princes landed...

This was a really great day! We had a lot of players who had never played Apocalypse before but they all seemed to really enjoy it. I'm hoping that this will be the first of many to come.

Im really looking forward to getting back to some model painting now. I've spent to long building terrain. I did  pick up the new HH Book III: Extermination, and im loving the new Mechanicus list in there! I'll scrape some cash together and get building soon.
