Blessings of the Omnissiah - Myrmidon Destructors WIP

Just a quick one today - some WIP for some Myrmidon Destructors I'm doing. There's actually another 2 as well, but I'm just trying to source another Conversion Beamer and Volkite Culverin for them before painting.

If anyone has any ideas where i can get some, please get in touch!

Blessings of the Omnissiah - Castellax Battle Automata

So some MORE Machanicum for you all! Sorry its been a bit dedicated to the Omnissiah lately, I've just got so many models to get though (lucky me!) I have been eyeing up Moritarion and a Storm Eagle that's been sitting on my desk for a while...but first, some Castellax!

Like all the Mechanicum models, there's a tonne of detail on them.

The first two are armed with wrist mounted Bolter's and Bolt Cannons.

The third is armed with Power Blades and a Multi Melta (for some anti-armour) and some wrist mounted Flamers.

Power blade and Flamer detail:

As with the Thallax, i went with a blue power core on their backs, with a touch of OSL (ish!)

The bases are primarily cork like the rest of the army.

Bolt Cannon details. I really like the skull targeter on the Mechanicum weapons, which is a common theme on the models.

I'm going to try and mix things up a bit some more Heresy Death Guard. However, with the new Tyranid releases arriving, expect to see a few Bugs as well!!

Painting Laurels - Bristol Vanguard's Spoils of War

A few weeks ago I attended Bristol Vanguards annual Spoils of War tournament weekend. It was the second time that I have attended the event, and it was even better than the last! A 2 day narrative campaign of Good vs Evil fought over 5 games of various points limits.

The weekend was a blast, and i highly recommend it to tournament goers. I was also fortunate enough to win an award for Best Painted HQ.

The many tables at 'Spoils

A few snaps of one of my games (in which i was completely annihilated by turn 3!!)

This was just before my Land Raider Spartan was destroyed by a Multi Melta - first shot of the whole  game!!

A shot of my buddy Sam's game on the table next toe me. He was plating a very crazy Eldar Exodite army.

Bristol Vanguard is renowned for its amazing terrain and tables! They're a pleasure to  play on.

Finally a few shots of the painting competition. There was an award for every category on the FoC.

Will definitely be going next year!

Blessings of the Omnissiah - Magos Dominus

The HQ selection for my Mechanicum army was a tough one, and truth be told i'm still undecided! So in the meantime i used this cool looking model that came with my Reaver Titan as a Magos Dominus.

All the servo skull came with the model so i decked him out with some floating helpers! Basically this guy sits behind my Krios Tanks fixing them with his servo harness!

For a stand-in HQ he's not bad! Got a feeling he might be a permanent fixture...

Blessings of the Omnissiah - Krios Battle Tank 2

The second of my three Krios Tanks is now complete!

This guy got the same treatment as the first one, plenty of brass, plenty of weathering powder.

Here's the pair together. I've tried them out in 3 games so far, and at AP3 they're very good at killing Marines!

Hope to get the Krios Venator done soon!

Blessings of the Omissiah - Thallax

For me the Thallax are the core troops for a Mechanicum army. At toughness 5 with 3 wounds they're hard as nails and pack some cool weapons, and Jet Pack infantry to boot! For these 2 squads I equipped them with a Multi Melta!

The power cores on their baacks are quite cool, so i tried a little OSL to make the models pop a bit.

The grim blank faceplate's of the Thallax are equally cool. I applied some water effects to make it a bit shiny!

I've seen cork used on bases for years, but this is the first time that i actually tried it! I wanted a blasted wasteland style base for the Mechanicum so the cork was perfect for a cracked earth effect. A few layers of weathering powders finish off the effect nicely.

Got another 9 of these to get on with - better get building!

Blessing's of the Omnissiah - Krios Battletank

Its been an ambition of mine to get a Mechanicum army going. A while ago i decided to put a big order into Forgeworld and stop dreaming about it! The orders now here, and i quickly set about building and painting these awesome models. First up, the Krios Battletank:

I didn't go with my usual amount of vehicle weathering with this tank. I figured that the Mechanicum would keep their vehicles and machines in top condition all the time, so the only weathering this Krios received was some weathering powder on the tracks.

The models full of steam-punk like details. Love all these cogs!!

Some sort of power plant thing! With the Mechanicum, who knows!

Some heat distortion on the Lightning Cannon.

The pilots throne is packed full of detail.

I went in quite heavy with the Oxide wash that GW do on the brass sections of the Krios. After its success on the Grave Warden Terminators, its my new best friend on brass!

I've got a few more units ready to build and paint (including 2 more Krios!) so expect plenty more Mechanicum soon.
