I've got the fist squad assembled, and today got my test mini painted! Take a look:
I went with a Space Wolves Grey undercoat (duh) which gave it a nice 'classic wolves' look; I wanted them to look as frosty as their home world! I did buy a tin of Army Painters 'Wolf Grey', but it was about the same colour as GW's 'Regal Blue', so was rendered useless as it was far to dark!
As for army lists, here it is!

Looks like it'll be a pretty fun list to play! I'm really looking forward to getting this army knocked out and having a few games with it! It'll help with the monotony of dry brushing a massive cathedral as well!
Until next winter.....

Although I prefer my Wolves proper grey I think your test mini looks great. Especially liking your furs. Good luck with the army!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Fang, look forward to seeing how you get on.
ReplyDeleteLOL, cheers dude! Its quite a change from the Guard I usually collect! Will be a good challenge though!
ReplyDeleteAwwww, but Wolf Banners and Mark of the Wulfen are where it's at..
ReplyDeletemmmm yeah, they didn't do it for me, although i am a virgin Wolf Player, so what do i know!
ReplyDeleteBesides, if i find i need Banners and Wolfen then it'll be an easy addition to make! I think it must be the Guardsman in me, making me buy as many guns as possible!!
The fang is a fantastic read. I have been on ebay for weeks picking up stuff for my new wolves army as well!
ReplyDeleteI'll second the recommendation for banners and mark, banners especially. You have no idea how useful those re-rolls are (as long as you remember to re-roll them).
ReplyDeleteOk, first let me say I run a much different build, but one thing I'd recommend is putting the cyclone missile launcher on a storm shield and power weapon guy or a twin lightning claw guy. You can only fire one weapon per turn, your Terminators are relentless, so the heavy doesn't matter, and when is a storm bolter any better than a missile launcher firing two krak missiles? I quote "For every 5 models in the squad one wolfguard model in Terminator Armor may choose one of the following: -replace... -replace...
ReplyDelete-take a cyclone missile launcher"
Of course I have mine with a storm bolter and power weapon :(.
